Walk With Me...my Journey

Well here I am on the second part of my journey. Surgery went well and the Doctors are optimistic. However its back to the waiting game for two weeks until the biopsy reports come back.

I thank God for his presence with me during my entire time in the Hospital. I felt him walk through the doors of the Hospital with me. I felt him standing beside me as I entered the oblivion of the anesthetic. I felt him standing beside me as I woke from that deep sleep. There was no fear just the Master's presence.

My recovery is slow but going well. I work a little each day on this site, and I know in my heart that this is one of the very reasons God has spared my life. I have a work to do, and I pray to him that I shall not fail him.

I think about those that face the terror of this dreaded disease without knowing our Father. I can't imagine the fear and agony they must experience. It is often difficult for a Christian to trust let alone a non believer to find solace in their time of need.

I am human and needless to say I have my ups and downs. I could feel the outter edges of depression trying to creep in. Feeling that my body had been violated and mutilated, I was allowing shame to seep in. It didn't take long for Jesus to step in and take control of those thoughts. God made this body and in his eyes it is perfection. So who am I to question his wisdom?

I have no doubts that the devil is going to try and take many runs at my steadfastness in the Lord. I know this though I only need to call out his name and he is there.
I know not what the future holds except for one thing and that is that Our Lord is going to be there for me and will continue to walk with me on my journey.

I invite you to return in a few weeks and walk with me as well as I continue on and should you see me begin to falter in my faith then I ask that you uphold me before the Lord.. God Bless

We Live In A System Of Beliefs

In my opinion, we live our life on the basis of beliefs. We, literally live in a huge belief system. So seamlessly integrated (into our world) are some beliefs that most people assume that they are natural and accepted them without questioning.

The very act of reading this article is belief-based, because the very construct that is formed in your head now is conceptual & of the thinking mind. Perhaps, what really is does not just exist as concepts, but also exists in the NOW as experience. Although one is able to describe or conceptualize a truth, the conceptualization is itself a thought.

Beliefs can be very powerful, especially when the majority of the population buys into it. Sometime a certain belief when set in motion, causes catalytic reactions, triggering the formation of yet other beliefs. Gradually, layers upon layers of beliefs mire directness and truth. So thickly laden with beliefs and far removed from the original spontaneity that life becomes unnecessarily complex and ritualized.

Major beliefs operating in our world are:

Identification of self with physical body.
When in actual fact, we are much more than that. This belief can be very difficult to un-ravel. And it takes many series of self-discovery to realize our true nature. The entire scope of this belief is beyond what can be expressed within this article. So I will leave it as that.

War.
War is borne out of beliefs that justify aggression to others that is participated by large groups. War itself is a belief, because nature and animals do not engage in it. Only humans do it, because it was conceived in the human mind, and it isn't natural or essential to human conditions. Military is an offshoot borne from War

Money buys happiness.
A belief that most thought of as true is that money gives one happiness. Happiness does not need money to fulfill, one merely made oneself believe so! The concept of Money set in motion the belief in status, status breeds competition, competition breeds the rat race, rat race cause one to slog a life time working and eventually few remembered the original purpose of life was for joy and fulfillment.

Status.
A person’s worth that is dictated by factors such as financial abundance and rank. This one creates much suffering in very hierarchical societies. This one is closely related to ‘money buys happiness.’

Perfectionism.
It is a most prevalent belief in our civilization. Everywhere in this world of ours, perfectionism is regarded as good while imperfection is bad. Everybody wants everybody else to be perfect. Is Perfection really an absolute value? I think not.
In my opinion, it is relative and is borne of human conception. Perfection is an idea. Things are the way they are. Perfection and imperfection are attached values.

Country.
The concept of country is just a belief in the ownership of land. Essentially, humans did not create land therefore nobody owns it. Patriotism is an offshoot belief borne from 'country'. When there are no countries and no wars, there are no needs for Patriotism.

Well, I think I have rambled enough. Thank you for reading.

Miracles: I Believe In Miracles

I recently read a quote by Albert Einstein, "You can choose to live two ways. You can live believing that miracles don't exist; or you can live believing that everything is a miracle." (My paraphrase.)

At first I thought, wow, pretty black and white, Mr. Einstein. What's wrong with somewhere in the middle? Certainly everything is not a miracle. But over the next week I continued to ponder the quote.

I eventually asked myself, what is a miracle anyway? And what, I wondered, was Albert Einstein's definition of a miracle?

The Encarta Dictionary defines the word "miracle" as: "1. Act of God - an event that appears to be contrary to the laws of nature and is regarded as an act of god. 2. Amazing event - an event or action that is amazing, extraordinary, or unexpected, i.e. it'll be a miracle if we get there on time. 3. Marvelous example - something admired as a marvelous creation or example of a particular type of science or skill."

Just how expansive was Einstein's definition of a miracle? Here is a genius who broke through the old ways of thinking concerning the nature of energy and matter, time and space. Brilliant as he was, perhaps, I thought, Einstein was still in awe of the great mystery of life. And if so, did this lead him to be continually open to miracles as they occurred in his own life?

What might Einstein have to teach us about miracles? And what are we missing if we're not open to miracles in our own lives?

Gregg Braden, best-selling author and internationally renowned as a pioneer in bridging science and spirituality, writes, "Belief is a code created from the certainty of what we think in our minds, married to the acceptance of what we feel in our hearts. The bottom-line: If you know the code, you choose your limits."

Have you ever stopped to ask yourself: are my limits too narrow? How have I limited miracles in my life because of my belief codes? And, have I chosen limits that interfere with living my life more fully... more miraculously?

Consider and appreciate the miracles that happen in everyday life.

• A summer vegetable garden that bloomed from tiny seeds that you carefully tended.
• A letter from across the world that arrives in your mailbox.
• A loved one who has triumphed over cancer.
• If you're a parent, the miracle of your own children... created from love, a part of yourself reborn in another.

Thoughts to Ponder...

• Have you ever said, "I can't," before you ever gave yourself the chance to prove that indeed you could?
• What miracles might have occurred had we been more open to the possibility?
• Are we just blind?

I challenge you, as I have challenged myself, with the question: How have the miracles in your life been limited by your own belief codes?

"Sooner or later we realize that we are the master-gardener of our own souls, the director of our own lives." James Allen.

Let's examine our thoughts and beliefs and be open to the miracles that can occur in our lives. Let's be open to the profound effect of beliefs on our bodies, minds and even our planet.

My wish for you is to be free to embrace all the wonders this phenomenal life has to offer us.

P.S. – Could it be a hill of miracles?

Impossible is Just a Word

Everyone, at some point of his or her life, has dreamed of being somebody special, somebody big. Who hasn’t fantasized about being the one who hits the game-winning homer? Who hasn’t dreamed of being the homecoming queen? And how many times have we dreamed of being rich, or successful, or happy with our relationships?

Often, we dream big dreams and have great aspirations. Unfortunately, our dreams remain just that – dreams. And our aspirations easily collect dust in our attic.

This is a sad turn of events in our life. Instead of experiencing exciting adventures in self actualization, we get caught up in the humdrum of living from day-to-day just barely existing.

But you know what? Life could be so much better, if only we learned to aim higher.

The most common problem to setting goals is the word impossible. Most people get hung up thinking I can’t do this. It’s too hard. It’s too impossible. No one can do this.

However, if everyone thought that, there would be no inventions, no innovations, and no breakthroughs in human accomplishment.

Remember that scientists were baffled when they took a look at the humble bumblebee. Theoretically, they said, it was impossible for the bumblebee to fly. Unfortunately for the bumble, bee no one has told it so. So fly it does.

On the other hand, some people suffer from dreaming totally outrageous dreams and not acting on them. The result? Broken dreams, and tattered aspirations.

If you limit yourself with self-doubt, and self-limiting assumptions, you will never be able to break past what you deem impossible. If you reach too far out into the sky without working towards your goal, you will find yourself clinging on to the impossible dream.

Try this exercise. Take a piece of paper and write down some goals in your life. Under one header, list down things ‘you know you can do’. Under another header, write the things ‘you might be able to do.’ And under one more, list the things that that are ‘impossible for you to do.’

Now look at all the headers strive every day to accomplish the goals that are under things ‘you know you can do’. Check them when you are able to accomplish them. As you slowly are able to check all of your goals under that heading, try accomplishing the goals under the other header-the one that reads ‘you might be able to do.’

As of the items you wrote under things I could do are accomplished, you can move the goals that are under things that are ‘impossible for you to do’ to the list of things ‘you might be able to do.’

As you iterate through this process, you will find out that the goals you thought were impossible become easier to accomplish. And the impossible begin to seem possible after all.

You see, the technique here is not to limit your imagination. It is to aim high, and start working towards that goal little by little. However, it also is unwise to set a goal that is truly unrealistic.

Those who just dream towards a goal without working hard end up disappointed and disillusioned.

On the other hand, if you told someone a hundred years ago that it was possible for man to be on the moon, they would laugh at you. If you had told them that you could send mail from here to the other side of the world in a few seconds, they would say you were out of your mind. But, through sheer desire and perseverance, these impossible dreams are now realities.

Thomas Edison once said that genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Nothing could be truer. For one to accomplish his or her dreams, there has to be had work and discipline. But take note that that 1% has to be a think-big dream, and not some easily accomplished one.

Ask any gym rat and he or she will tell you that there can be no gains unless you are put out of your comfort zone. Remember the saying, “No pain, no gain”? That is as true as it can be.

So dream on, friend! Don’t get caught up with your perceived limitations. Think big and work hard to attain those dreams. As you step up the ladder of progress, you will just about find out that the impossible has just become a little bit more possible.

The Best Tips For Greater Happiness Part II

Exercise and rest

One of the issues to appreciate when looking at happiness levels is how much your physical state contributes to your emotional and psychological well-being. There are physiological reasons why exercise promotes happiness, such as the release of endorphins in the brain. There is also the simple and pragmatic truth that if you are fit you are much better at handling stress. Exercise and rest are also important for getting good sleep at night; and sleep is important, not only for rejuvenating oneself but also because when we are sleep-deprived it's all too easy to get problems out of proportion - and this can easily bring us down.
Life coaches often report that there are two types of people: those who are good at exercise and those who are good at rest. The former tend to push themselves too hard and the latter don't push hard enough. If you can master the balance between the two then you have taken a significant step towards greater happiness.

Hanging out with the wrong people

It seems who we mix with bears heavily on how we feel. It's not just kids that can hang out with a bad crowd: we can all do it. Other people's world view can have a significant influence on our own feelings. If you mix with people who have a negative attitude about life, themselves or you, this is bound on some level to bring you down. Spending time with people because they're cool rather than because you care about each other is a bad choice.
Following the wrong path in life

The correlation between people reporting that their life is heading in the wrong direction and feeling depressed is very strong. Feeling you are moving towards your destiny and purpose in life is very important; even if it is at a snail's pace. The opposite of this is to feel out of control or even worthless. The key here is that it's not about how fast you're moving or even whether you will arrive; it's more about just taking the journey.

Moving at a self damaging pace

It is a particular phenomenon of the modern age that people push themselves hard to achieve goals. The consequent harm of this can be seen in ill health, particularly high levels of stress; in a sense of inner disquiet rather than peace; and in our relationships. So our final tip in this guide to happiness is to take a serious look at the pace of your life and to ask yourself whether this may be doing you some harm. Question whether it's worth it and if you maybe could improve your happiness by pressing on the brakes a little.
